Assembly preparative activities for March 1, 2010 - Organizziamoci

Together against racism and discrimination

a March 1 of mobilization for the rights and dignity

Coordination Antirazzista Torinese born after the great national anti-racism demonstration in Rome on 17 October raises the urgent need for efforts to elicit a commitment and a common reaction to defeat the racist and violent climate that is spreading in society fueled by racist and discriminatory laws in this country.

We want to give voice and legs to that part of society that does not accept the division between immigrants and Italians, who fight for the right to employment, health, housing, education for all, that the right to live in dignity is not bound a residence permit.

E 'need the leadership of all because it claims a culture of dialogue, mutual respect and solidarity.

Coordination is crossed by different reality that they try to build a large network and linking the struggles that exist in the field of battle for human rights and solidarity.

The initiative was born on March 1 in Italy chasing a suggestion imported from France and as request by the reality of immigrants and low anti-racist and the vehicle was the propagating network through social networks, and this has created a big media hype and the race to take possession of many a term that "is fine and does not commit" happens so that the network between those who promote this day, there are also representatives of political parties "democratic" more concerned about the right to safety and security of rights.

share the strike of French immigrants, struggling more this fall to claim their rights. Like them, we think that on March 1, despite not having called us, should start from the bottom and become a day of action to try to bring out even play a leading role among immigrants, stifled by a racist society.

We want to prepare a series of initiatives before and after March 1 to expand the knowledge, participation and efforts to fight on how to improve the living conditions of immigrants means that the rights and dignity for all.

We ask the unions to ensure the protection of all those still employed, and Italian immigrants, who, wanting to react, in the aftermath of the March 1 do not affect the workplace.

Please prepare this day of action together and participate in

A: On Michela Brambilla
Honourable Minister Brambilla,

We are a group of professional translators and interpreters. We read today in the international translation portal ProZ the following announcement:

http://www.proz.com/translation-jobs/390295

Dear Translators,
we are looking for new employees to be included in a translation project of the Ministry of Tourism .
The body is sending us and we will send all the material on this site 2010 www.italia.it be translated into English, French, German and English. The "folder" is dictated by the Ministry of 2600 characters (?) And the price is 9 € gross payment in 90 days (there are always conditions of the ministry).
It 's a very low price but you have to think about the amount and continuity of work.
If you are interested to work you can contact me via mail, telephone or skype.
We have to assign the file to be translated with some urgency.
Thanks for your cooperation. Sincerely

The ad is placed by the agency [snip].

would like to know, as members of a class consisting of professionals working in the language field, if as indicated in the advertisement regarding rates and payment terms is true.

A professional translator to do his job well means an average of 10-12 folders to 1500 characters per day, equivalent to about 6-7 folders to 2600 characters. That proposal is, therefore, at a rate of 54-63 euro gross per day, at an average of € 25-30 excluding social security contributions and taxes. In other words, 9 € gross per page of 2600 characters match, with the same purchasing power, the daily wage of a worker in an Indonesian sweatshop. A minimum charge reasonable effort and quality required should be at least triple.

that proposal and, in short, a fee is completely unacceptable and demeaning to our profession already mistreated. If the rates offered by the Ministry to its translators are these, no wonder that the site www.italia.it be full of gross blunders and embarrassing, that give a bad image of our country in the world.

We wonder if the image abroad and the development of its human resources is not an investment worth perhaps more aligned with the type of service required and its scope.

Some of your kind feedback, best regards

Kiddie Smoke Detector Beeps

read, read Please read!

wonderful initiative that I adopt and I want others to adopt other: good idea, alberto!

Read, read, read!

I am a bit 'excited to write this article because I know what I'm about to say (strano!). And what I'm about to say, or rather to propose an initiative that has fascinated me so much. I always read, but lately (last year or so) I felt the need to own the books I read and make a smart way. Why, yes it is true that anything that somehow makes you grow, but it is also true that time is limited and so of course we must learn to manage it by making choices targeted. I did so I recommend a bit 'of books and slowly I began to outline my taste, but also plays an opportunity to try something new.

This is giving me lot of satisfaction, just think that today, the beginning of the year, I've read 9 books. And none of them disappointed me. All I have left a beautiful experience that makes me feel better inside. Well and this is step one.

Point two is this: quite simply, most people do not read. Cabbages them would say. But no. If in one year more than half of Italians did not open a book (2005 figures, today the situation is somewhat 'improved) to worry, because this is a sign of low culture and low culture is an indication of mental backwardness and ...

Many "indicates" after ...

... and this only makes the usual stupid goats goats elect a bit more clever. So you accept that or not, reading is a sign of intelligence. Take it for pride, take it as you like, but the fact is this and the fact is most stubborn in the world. In a country that is well people read, write, listen to music, enjoy watching movies and having a decency. This is step two.

The last point, and the third is that I take the bus every morning. Yes. The thing that worries me is the very surreal distance of people physically nearby. There will be people (commuters for years) now I see the dawn of time I never intended to speech and vice versa. It 'sad to see how you can spend an hour in a train without addressing a word to anyone (yes yes, I do too!). How did this happen? Well, my personal estrangement theory tells of a routine practice that leads to create a shield of professionalism between us and our neighbors. Many times it just happens to break the ice when someone physically breaks the ice, resulting in hilarious laughter and ruins upon between two strangers. And then we break a leg to make friends?

Well, by adding these three seemingly unconnected points, you get my proposal. Do not hurt, does not mean to do good. Do not kill someone, does not mean cure. To love someone, does not mean its good. Demand respect, not to say deserve respect. It should be something concrete, a seemingly small gesture, but in very strong. A small concrete action that detract a bit 'that damned excuse that often leads us to say "Yes, but there are children starving in Africa, what it do this?". Well, children of Africa, we are working, but before you get there you must do a lot of small steps, because right now we are not able to help. We must become better people and not become one day or another, but (read increasing) cock, take a cabbage small step then others will be alone.

On March 26, 2010 each of you will hand in a book, a story that considers beautiful, the characters he loved. Will have this in hand, in your bag or wherever you want. On March 26, 2010 you will take this book and give to a person to whom you have never spoken. Yes, just one of those who see it every day. Get up your ass, lighten your voice and unsubstantiated put any shame away. Quest'infuso revolution will take and donate to your partner. Looked into his eyes and smile.

Because the same day? Why together? Why jump alone is harmless, but him along with millions of people can shake the earth. I need your help. I need you to spread this message. I need you to share this event anywhere. I need you to send to others the importance of this gesture. I need you to be the first to understand what is behind. I need you today, and the flames burn until that date. I need a sign of life from all sides. I do not want to believe that an ignorant or stupid Christmas movie busty and move to attract more legs of this message. I have confidence. I believe that culture can still defeat ignorance. I believe that under the colors of every party there are still people. I want to believe that every stranger you want to make friends with you.

Here are the official group that I created on Facebook. You know better than me what to do to give importance to this initiative.

I want to believe.

believe you can change something.
